Small Talks or Gossip?

Sometimes, small talks can end up to be gossip.  So, as a believer, we have to be mindful and watchful. It's better to say things in the open so y(our) "small talk" won't lead to gossip. God help us all.

What are small talks? Something light and on the surface. Usually between two people. It becomes gossip when one of the person introduces a harmful or derogatory talk about someone else into the small talk. So, what started as simple exchange of pleasantries has now started slandering another person. If you leave a conversation feeling bad, then it's a sign you have either said or heard something bad. So, be mindful. This is another way the Holy Spirit checks us so we don't engage in that again. If you gossip regularly, those signals will go & a sinful habit is formed.

Psalm 51:10-12: "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from your presence, and do not take your holy spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and sustain in me a willing spirit" (NRSV).
