Love In Diversity
In Nigeria, most parents tell their kids, don't eat anything from anyone in school o. Mostly for safety reasons & to teach kids how to be satisfied with their own meals from home. So, as a little girl in America, I carried my lunch box with Tuna Sandwich in it & fruit punch drink because I know when I get home, I will eat a big meal. So, first day in highschool, I was looking for a great sit to eat my lunch at the Cafeteria. There was ones with black girls but they weren't so welcoming; so some Hispanic/Spanish American girls invited me to their table. They were just speaking Spanish & because I could speak a little that I learnt in Middle School, I could relate. We ate together & I had fun.
So, next time, I packed extra sandwiches to school to share with my new friends and they did same as well. Meeting them was actually an answer to something I wrote in my prayer journal before High School telling God to bless me in my new school with new friends. Sometimes, God uses diversity to reveal His Love nature to us. Let's stop looking for love in the physical aspect and start creating friendships that has true connections. Just because some people don't like you doesn't mean everyone hates you. You just need to "FIND YOUR LOVE TRIBE AND VIBE WITH THEM." - Martha Iyen @theGraceLifeBlog

Side Note: Oh, it's very normal to share meals over there o.🇺🇲
ReplyDeleteLike, if you have a group of friends and it's a little get-together, each person or family brings something. For example, you can choose to bring the salads and someone can bring the pasta, and so on. It's their culture. It's different here. When someone invites you here🇳🇬, you aren't expected to bring a meal too. Every place is different. Just adapt and you will be fine. It's still about love in diversity. You just have experience different worlds to get it. Tomorrow is Church. Goodnight lovelies❤️
